Do I have to take a tour or can I visit on my own?

The only way to experience the Folk Americana Roots Hall of Fame fully is to take a tour of the Wang Theatre. Some exhibits in the theatre may be viewable during a performance, but the best experience is to join a guided tour.

When should I arrive on the day of the tour?

You should arrive 5-10 minutes prior to the start of your tour. We will meet you at the Wang Theatre Box Office located at 270 Tremont Street. The doors many be locked when you arrive, but someone will be there to let you in at the start time.

When are tours?

Tours are currently offered Wednesday to Sunday on non-performance days at 12PM. Reservations are required as we can fill up. Private tours are also available for groups of all sizes 7 days a week. CLICK HERE to see a full list of our available tour dates.

How can I purchase tickets for a tour?

Public and private tours are offered on select days and times (subject to change). For booking inquiries, please email the Theatre Tours team at tours@bochcenter.org or book online here. While booking, please specify which exhibits you would like to see.

Do I need to book a tour to see the exhibits?

Yes, you must book a tour to our exhibits. You can specify in your booking which exhibits you want to see if you prefer to not see all of them.

What is your Covid-19 policy?

Please be aware that our Covid-19 Policy and Safety Measures have changed per the revisions to the City of Boston’s vaccine requirement for certain indoor spaces. Unless required by a specific Artist or attraction, we no longer require proof of vaccination against Covid-19 or masks in our facilities.

What is your security policy?

The Folk Americana Roots Hall of Fame is committed to providing a safe, secure, and enjoyable environment for our guests during tours of the Folk Americana Roots Hall of Fame. For everyone’s safety, all guests will walk through metal detectors and have their belongings searched. The Boch Center reserves the right to confiscate prohibited items and/or those that are in breach of building policies or those that pose danger or disruption to the performance or other guests. Any guest who declines to be screened by these methods may be denied entry or ejected.

Does the Folk Americana Roots Hall of Fame have an elevator?

The Wang Theatre is equipped with an elevator available in the Grand Lobby with accessibility to all floors. If you're interested in seeing The Folk Music Portrait Project and need wheelchair access, please let us know in advance so we can accommodate your request.

Where can I park?

You can find parking easily through ParkWhiz. There are several parking lots located near the Theatres: The Tufts Medical Center Garage adjacent to the Wang Theatre; Theatre District Parking adjacent to the Shubert Theatre; Standard Parking, between the Tufts Medical Center Parking Garage and the DoubleTree Hotel; CityPlace Garage in the MA Transportation Building; 200 Stuart Street Garage at the Revere Hotel; the Kinney Motor Mart on Stuart Street, and the Garage at 100 Clarendon on Clarendon Street.

What restaurants are in the area?

There are many restaurants in the immediate area. Show your tour ticket and receive a special discount at select restaurants nearby. Learn more here

Is photography or video allowed?

Yes, feel free to take as many photos and videos as you like along your tour.

Are bags and backpacks allowed inside?

Any belongings brought into the theatre will be subject to a security screening. There is not a bag or coat check available at the theatre, so please plan accordingly.

Is the tour accessible?

Some areas of the theatre may not be fully accessible. If you have anyone in your group that may need additional assistance, please let us know in advance and we will do everything possible to make accommodations.

Can strollers be brought on the tour?

Strollers are welcome inside the theatre. However, the tour does visit several areas that are best accessible by stairs. We do not have a location to check bags or items during the tour.

Can we bring in food and drinks?

Outside food is not permitted inside the theatre. We do allow bottled water to be taken on the tour. Food packages may be made available at an additional fee.
